Directions to Tan y Garth Hall from the North.

M 56 – M 53 – Signposted WREXHAM / CHESTER (going towards A483). When the M 53 ends you are on A 55 – for approximately 5-mile. Keep going on left hand side of the carriage way. Look out for the sign ‘River Dee’, a little further on you will go under a bridge. Quarter of a mile ahead you will see a sign A483 – WREXHAM / CHESTER, Take this turn off and at the top of the filter lane turn left for A483 WREXHAM. Travel ¼ mile and at the small roundabout take the second exit signed A483 WREXHAM.

When you pass Wrexham you are still on the A483 but the sign is now for OSWESTRY. Keep on this road and eventually you will pass a sign Bangor - on – Dee, prepare to move into the right hand lane as the road ahead branches off to Whitchurch and a back road to Llangollen. Keep on the A483. You may notice going over a long bridge and shortly after the gradient will start to climb and you will see a sign for the A5 to Llangollen followed by a sign for the GLYN CEIRIOG VALLEY and CHIRK after which is a roundabout.

Don’t go on to Oswestry but turn right to A5 AND CHIRK. You will go down hill to a small roundabout and turn LEFT for CHIRK. (see diagram)

As you go through Chirk you will see Chirk Tandoori on the right, then a Pelican Crossing after which indicate to turn sharp right by a Gift Shop into CASTLE ROAD - the B4500. If you start to go down hill you have missed the turning. This is the start of the Ceiriog Valley. We are 4 miles from Chirk along this road. When you are nearly at the Hall and after you come out of the a tight “S” bend with the river on your left hand side, you will see a small group of buildings on your right which have a very large stone at their gateway, carry on (you can see Tan y Garth Hall in the distance). Just after this you come out of the 2nd part of a bend and Tan y Garth Hall’s gateway is about 100yds on the right on a long straight piece of road. If you reach the sign for Pontfadog you have gone too far.
